Security and Preparedness Committee
The Security and Emergency Preparedness Committee provides ongoing information to BOMA/GLA's membership on the state of crime, resources to keep their buildings safe, and best practices for long-term preparedness. The committee receives routine updates and discussions with LAPD, the LA City Attorney's office, and LAFD. The committee discusses a wide range of issues on subjects such as homelessness/trespassing, COVID-19 building related issues, cybersecurity, and fire safety/disaster preparedness.

Responsibilities
- Provide input on security and preparedness challenges members face and develop best practices on how to address these challenges.
- Participate on a subcommittee to develop relevant tools and resources for members. Subcommittees present their work to members at regular member policy briefings.
- Subcommittees currently include:
- Homelessness and trespassing
- COVID-19 building reentry
- Cybersecurity
- Fire safety and disaster preparedness
- Subcommittees currently include:
- Committee members are also encouraged to identify new issues and lead working groups/subcommittees on them throughout the year.
- Recruit expert guest speakers for committee meetings, subcommittee meetings, and/or policy briefings.
- Come prepared to meetings with questions and input for discussion.
Meeting Schedule
Last Friday of every other month beginning in February, 12pm-1pm, on Zoom.
Time Commitment
Members are expected to devote one hour every other month for committee meetings and another hour per month to subcommittee work, speaker recruitment, and/or issue analysis.

This committee consists of fourteen (14) members.
