Awards Committee
The Awards Committee plans our Awards of Excellence and Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) programs, which includes judging, nomination outreach, building tours, mentorship, workshops, building recruitment, sponsorships and planning the Annual Awards Gala and Afterparty held in October.
Awards of Excellence recognizes the professional performance of members each year by honoring those members who have contributed to the association and the CRE industry.
The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) honors commercial office buildings and excellence in building management.
The committee consists of a Principal Member Chair, Associate/Professional Member Co-Chair.

Responsibilities
- Recruit buildings to enter the competition
- Solicit Awards of Excellence nominations
- Mentor a building
- Represent the committee at events
- Attend and participate in meetings as scheduled
- Participate on a subcommittee
- TOBY Judge (Local, Regional, and International)
- Awards of Excellence Judge
- Secure sponsorships
- Volunteer at Awards Gala
- Attend a TOBY Workshop
Meeting Schedule
First Wednesday from 12pm- 1pm, via Zoom (Except January and July)
Virtual Meetings: January, March, April, May, June, November
Two in=person meetings: 12 pm - 1:30 pm (February and August)
Time Committment
- Most committee meetings are one hour per month.
- Building mentorship will take place from January – August. You will set your own schedule and it will be about a five-hour commitment.
- Each committee member will be assigned to work on a subcommittee, the time commitment varies based on the subcommittee.
- TOBY local judging, the in person building tours take place in August for one day from 8AM - 6PM.
- Awards of Excellence Judging can take from 1- 3 hours based on the number of nominations. Judging takes place in August.
- TOBY Regional/International Judging: Takes place from March – May with a Five-hour commitment. (Approx. 5 buildings@ one hour each)
- Committee members are expected to attend the event.
